What is an English Mastiff???? An English Mastiff is one of the oldest breeds in America. Originating in England, these gentle giants came to America on the Mayflower. Mastiffs are the heaviest dogs on earth and have the biggest hearts and sweetest dispositions of any dog. Yes, they can grow to be well over 200 pounds but they are fiercely loyal to their owners and protective of their owners property and home. Mastiffs are meant to be part of the family so these dogs must live indoors to be close to their beloved owners. They tend to drool, snore loudly and they need some daily exercise but ordinarily you will find them sleeping at the feet of a family member who they adore. They are wonderful with children and are especially protective of them. Mastiffs don't need to be taught how to protect. They are born with those instincts. They will never show protection traits until they need to use them. Mastiffs will tend to corner an intruder or tackle them rather than attack. The Mastiff is a homeowners dream of a loyal and wonderful loving pet. They come in three colors. Fawn, brindle and apricot. We have carefully and patiently put our breeding animals together and have purchased wonderful dogs from the following kennels of whom we highly recommend.
